MEMBERSHIP ***WE ARE A VERY PROUD 3-STAR UNIT *** With membership in excess of 300
ELIGIBILITY Membership in the Auxiliary is limited to women who have an immediate family member who is also an American Legion member in good standing (husband, parent, grandparent, etc.).. Upon establishment of eligibility, such women may become members of a local Unit of the Auxiliary. A member of a local Unit is also a member of the Department and the National organizations at no additional cost.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS Membership in the American Legion Auxiliary brings with it special benefits that not only provide protection for your family, but also substantial money-saving discounts. . Travel Accident Insurance - Up to $7,500 accidental death benefit based on mode of transportation. All current members of the American Legion Auxiliary are covered by this benefit. There are no enrollment forms to fill out, no applications to send, and NO COST TO THE MEMBER. Every member is automatically insured with the payment of her dues. Under the blanket coverage, no individual certificates of insurance are issued and no individual beneficiaries are designated. The benefits of the Travel Accident Insurance Plan are paid to the beneficiary and/or estate of the deceased. Call 1-800-545-6390 or your Department State Headquarters for claim forms. . LIFE TIME MEMBER Any member in good standing whose membership dues are paid for the current year may become a Very Important Member (VIM) which is the Auxiliary's paid-up-for-life membership program. The membership status must be verified by the Unit Secretary on the application. A VIM membership is purchased with a lump sum payment by the member.
